One of the deepest forms of trust is the courage to be vulnerable in front of a colleague. Developing this can be achieved by combining several tools, such as the analysis of everyday work practices, making colleagues’ characteristics visible, work coaching, and improvisation methods.

Talking pays off

The starting point for the coaching program is a research-based simulation tailored for assisting the team’s development. Conversational simulation uncovers issues that are often left untouched in everyday work. Other workshops are selected according to the team’s situation and include trust-creating exercises and working on the team’s internal practices.

Content of the coaching program

  • Team Strengths simulation facilitated and complete with reports and a results workshop.
  • Two additional team workshops, the type and content being determined by the results of the simulation.
  • Another separately selected simulation or workshop.
  • Five coaching or counselling sessions for the team or the team leader as personal guidance.
  • An action plan for the next steps, created together.

Research background

The coaching programme and the simulation are based on McClelland’s motivational theory, Jung’s personality theory and Belbin’s team roles. On the basis of these theories, we have chosen such themes on team awareness that facilitate discussion on the most important areas of learning and preferences affecting the team’s operations
